This month's Design Dilemma helps a homeowner create
a coastal setting in a new townhome.
 Wayne's townhome before we started
Our Design Dilemma this month came from Wayne.
He wanted his new townhome to have a "Florida and
coastal" feel, even though he had furniture from
his traditional, northern (Mid-Atlantic), previous home.
At the same time, he wanted to retain some of the furniture
from his previous home.
Here's What We Did...
Our design team went to work in the living room. The room
had very little furniture. His goal for this room was
to create an informal space for relaxing with friends.
We chose four chairs for the room and arranged them facing
one another to give the room an inviting atmosphere. We
provided a strong emphasis on native plants, rattan, and
colors to capture the coastal feel of Florida.
In the bedroom we retained the existing furniture but
changed the bedding, accessories and painted the room
for a relaxed coastal theme.
 And the results!
